Joanna's path to yoga began with the practice of asana as a sister companion to her full-time investment in dance.
She noticed a subtle shift starting to occur when she was choosing to spend more time on her mat. She began to explore creative expression through her asana practice.
Joanna teaches inclusive, thoughtful and inspiring classes and lectures that connect your mind, body and spirit. She cultivates a space for grounding and a sense of balance in the body through the concept of Sthira and Sukha, strength and ease.

Mark always loved to move his body and was obsessed with gymnastics as a child. He was always intrigued by the shapes he was able to find with practice and discipline.
After a little searching, he found himself in a yoga class and couldn’t believe how incredible it felt to reconnect with his body. It took a year of regular classes before he knew he wanted to dive deeper into understanding yoga and embarked upon his first yoga teacher training.
Now, many years later, he shares his passion by teaching new yoga teachers and offering online classes.
He also brings his formal education in classical music to his teaching and is our official "chant master".

Angela describes herself as equal parts philosopher, artist and teacher. But above all, a student; a student of life.
As an ayurvedic practitioner, registered massage therapist, yoga teacher, curriculum developer and a writer, Angela brings a wealth of wisdom and knowledge to her classes. Angela encourages students to contemplate and inquire as they mindfully move their bodies.

Like all Yoga Schools, our yoga teacher training program adheres to the essential curriculum components required for new yoga teachers. However, the delivery of this curriculum sets us apart. The program is collectively taught by all members of our faculty, providing a wealth of knowledge and diverse perspectives; ensuring a comprehensive and enriching learning experience.
Part 1 of our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training offers a thorough and practical exploration of the body’s structure and function as they relate to yoga. You’ll gain a clear understanding of how muscles, bones, joints, and connective tissues work together to support movement, alignment, and stability on the mat.
Through the study of anatomical principles and common variations in the human body, you’ll learn how to teach in a way that is safe, effective, and inclusive. This includes adapting poses to meet individual needs and offering cues that reflect a deeper awareness of how bodies move.
Combining video lectures, guided learning, and hands-on workshops, Part 1 lays the groundwork for teaching with clarity and confidence.
A strong foundation in anatomy not only enriches your own practice - it empowers you to support students with greater insight, care, and skill.
In Part 2 of your Yoga Teacher Training, we begin to expand our understanding of yoga beyond postures and sequencing. This module invites you into the heart of yogic tradition, its history, philosophy, language, and subtle practices, laying a strong foundation for both personal transformation and skillful teaching.
We begin by exploring the history of yoga, tracing its journey from ancient roots to modern global movements. You’ll gain insight into how various styles of yoga evolved and the philosophies that shaped them. Through the study of yoga philosophy, including foundational texts like the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, you'll engage with timeless teachings that continue to inspire contemporary practice.
This part also introduces the subtle and energetic aspects of yoga, including: Pranayama (breathwork), Drishti (gaze), and Meditation as tools for clarity, presence, and inner stillness; Bandhas (energetic locks), Mudras (gestures), and Kriyas (cleansing techniques) that support physical vitality and energetic regulation; and an exploration of the Chakra System, providing insight into yogic energy anatomy and self-awareness.
You’ll also begin working with Sanskrit, the sacred language of yoga, and learn how chanting supports concentration, emotional regulation, and connection to yogic tradition. We explore Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science of health and balance, and use the contemplative practice of mandalas to inspire personal reflection and creativity.
To integrate these teachings through direct experience, the module includes 2 dedicated workshops in Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga, offering a quieter, introspective approach to asana that complements more dynamic forms of practice.
Finally, we examine different learning modalities to support your growth as both a student and a teacher, helping you understand how people absorb and integrate information in unique ways.
By the end of Part 2, you will have cultivated a rich, multidimensional understanding of yoga, one that goes far beyond the physical and invites a more holistic, embodied relationship to your practice and teaching.
Integrating yoga studies into your toolkit is what transforms your teaching from a sequence of poses into a cohesive, conscious offering.
In Part 3 of your 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, we turn our full attention to the study, practice, and teaching of asana, the physical postures of yoga. This comprehensive section is designed to help you embody the poses, understand how to teach them safely and effectively, and find your own authentic voice as a teacher.
You’ll explore 55 foundational yoga poses across three in-depth modules. Each pose is examined through the lens of alignment, energetic intention, benefits, contraindications, and functional variations to support a diverse range of students. Through video tutorials, visual guides, and teaching tips, you'll gain the confidence to offer meaningful asana experiences that go far beyond simply calling out pose names.
We’ll also explore: Assisting and adjusting with care and consent; Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations) and how to teach them clearly; In-depth modifications for inclusive and accessible teaching; Language and word choice that supports clarity, compassion, and connection' Sequencing methodology, so you can design creative, safe, and intentional classes; Ethics and authenticity in teaching and holding space for others.
Finally, a series of guided workshops will help you build your very first yoga class; from weaving in philosophy, to sequencing postures, to tying it all together with confidence and heart. You’ll also get a preview of your teaching practicum, offering a clear, supportive look at what to expect as you prepare to share your teaching with the world.
Asana: Where Movement Meets Mindfulness
